Duterte understands this concept of evil in our world, and he has embraced the opportunity to become the symbol of hope to those who have become hopeless. He has offered himself to be our sacrificial lamb to save our country. Duterte’s Leadership is Driven More by Fear than Love We are created as social creatures. We are attracted to the companionship of friends, the security of family, the feeling of acceptance and belonging to a community, and, most importantly, the satisfaction of understanding our unique purpose and responsibility in our societies. In each category of our social structures, we encounter cooperation among individuals, the formation of relationships, and the exchange of ideas. As we humans have progressed systems of government developed and have decided what course of action to take through autocracies, oligarchies, and democracy. In all three types, certain individuals, called leaders, dictate or vote upon their preferred course of action. We are all born leaders. We inherit the ability to choose right against wrong. In our democratic system, we have chosen Rodrigo Roa Duterte of Davao City as our leader, Chief Executive, and President of the Republic of the Philippines. We have entrusted our values, principles, morals, and decision making to one person, on leader. This entails a burden that is 98 million people heavy. …show more content…

It is proven that the influence of his writings have manifested themselves in the formation of strategic stalwarts and leaders of unbreakable will. It is important to note that despite the time period in which Machiavelli’s writings were published, his ideas and arguments about leadership are relevant in every transient society that has graced this earth. What his writings prove is this: empires conquer and disappear, civilizations rise and fall, but human nature prevails
