Is drinking and driving worth risking your life, the lives of innocent people, and risking your future? Driking and driving has become a terrible problem in El Salvador and it brings terrible consequences. A huge amount of people die each year due to alcohol and after so many tragic accidents people continue making the same mistakes. Drunk driving is often a symptom of a larger problem. People who drink and drive not only put their lives in danger; they put everybody on the on the roads in danger, and also they can get in serious different troubles that can affect terribly the rest of their lives. For example to pay for the damage they cause to other people’s cars or even their own cars. Another important case is if you physically harm someone, imagine all medical bills you would have to pay. Also, and probably people don’t think about it but there is the posibility to go to jail. Sanctions by the penal code of El Salvador says in the article 147 that you can go to jail between one to three years for reckless driving. On the other hand, in the article 132 say that for killing someone while driving drunk you can go between two to four year to prison and this penalties can be mixed up; so finally you can get a judgment of around 7 years or more, it all depends how so serious was the accident. Put in other words, people that drink and drive are getting in serious economical troubles and with the law. It’s not worth risking everything for, so don't drink and drive. In conclusion, drinking and driving is not right. It is not fair for a drunk driver to risk the lives of innocent people or their own lives. I think many people feel capable of drinking and driving but at the end they are just driving to their own death. Drinking and drving does not worth the consequenses. Don’t drink and
