Drinking Age The drinking age debate has been going on for a vast number of years. The drinking age debate is not something new that has been argued, 190 countries all over the world have tried to lower or higher the minimum drinking age. The United States minimum drinking age is 21,but there's a lot of different countries some have at 15,18 and others have no minimum drinking age. Statistics show that 75-80% of people involved in felony crimes or in serious misdemeanors where under the influence. The minimum drinking in Iceland, Japan, Paraguay, Thailand, Uzbekistan is 20. They are young teens still developing not know what they want not knowing what good from bad and these is only in the U.S, imagine in all the other countries. Mexico’s drinking age is set at 18 years old so what a lot of teens do that are from the U.S they go to Mexico just to consume alcohol and that's been a really bad problem for the U.S because many U.S citizens have lost their life's over there they have lost friends or even family members just because of alcohol. In Cancun there's been many cases of people between the ages of 18-24 that have lost their life's due to alcohol some were either drinking having a good time with friends and got kidnapped and wouldn't appear till the next day dead, other would either just get intoxicated with alcohol and do things they would remember. Most of these things would happen to girls who would get drunk (Minimum legal drinking age). The thing is that our teens think otherwise, our teens think that just because they can vote go to jail and buy cigarettes, they think they're on top of the world and they can do anything they want.
