The domestic and factory systems both had many differences and occurred at different times but had one goal that was succeed, just with very different outcomes. For hundreds of years humans had the responsibility of producing goods needed for them. Before the 18 century, people were producing goods at home with their own supplies and hands. Women were hand-sewing dresses and men were hand-crafting furniture. Clothing, furniture, shoes, etc., were produced at home slowly, sold locally, and manufactured on a pre-order system. Such a task was handled by one individual and he/she worked as much as they could according to demand. Workers also had multiple sources of sustainces- other employers owned a garden or farm.
