Do Child Beauty Pageant's Steal Childhood?
It has been proving that beauty contests are stealing childhood. Do you agree or disagree with this. I agree with this because I feel parents of the children make to make over the beauty contests. I believe the children should have some say so about if they want to do pageants because some parents make the child do them when maybe they don’t want to. Many believe that child beauty contests are a theft to child hood because little children should not be judged by their beauty, named winners or losers because of their beauty, and it kills they social life with their friends at school.

"Children who consistently compete in beauty pageants miss the chance to make friends during and after school and are at risk for developing problems in their social interactions" (Eder). Kids will spend so much time thinking about these beauty contest that they will miss out of a lot of their development skills "A 6-year-old beauty queen is put at risk for problems in most major areas of development: cognitive development, peer relationships, adult relationships and self-concept" (Eder). When they miss out on all these skills they miss a lot. No one realizes how much this could change a person development and relationships with others. Girls also don’t have a good self-esteem because of these consents they do. Self-esteem is having a confidence in yourself and with pageants how can you have confidence when you're getting judged on your beauty that is fake "But one of the reasons why so many girls lack self-esteem is that we live in a culture that values women for how they look more than what they can do, and that we set artificial standards of thinness and tinselly prettiness few women can meet"
