Recommended: What is love
What is love? Love is many things that have great meanings in life. Love is most of the time something that everyone want to has whether it is with marriage, kids, or even an animal. Over the years the meaning of love has changed here and there and a definition of it would be a variety of different emotions that normally are positively strong. Love can also be something that makes you want to go out and shoot a gun at a so called enemy or to go out in the freezing cold weather to hunt an animal just to put food on the table. This emotion can make people do crazy things like taking a bullet for someone because of how much you care about them. Personally I believe that love is the reason you are born, most people spend 20 plus years looking for
Love is said to be one of the most desired things in life. People long for it, search for it, and crave it. It can come in the form of partners, friends, or just simply family. To some, love is something of a necessity in life, where some would rather turn a cold shoulder to it. Love can be the mixture of passion, need, lust, loyalty, and blood. Love can be extraordinary and breathtaking. Love being held so high can also be dangerous. Love can drive people to numerous mad things with it dangerously so full of craze and passion.
There are many broad ways love can be defined so people can relate, but sometimes they are not clear. The Webster Dictionary defines love as “strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties” or “attraction based on sexual desire”. Those two definitions may be a similar way love can be based, but it means so much more. It does not always mean you have a reason to love, or that you are attracted to something; you can love someone or something you know nothing about.
Love is a very tangible thing. It can be easily manipulated, and it has no boundaries. It works alongside many different feelings such as respect, and passion, and comes in many different forms. Some say it is the one thing a person needs to survive; others call it a drug so toxic that nothing can stop the addiction. True love however is something that is very rare, and when it is found, it cannot be stopped. Love is magic, love is truth, but most importantly, love is happiness.
If I was asked to give a definition of love, I would say that love is when you have strong feelings of affection towards someone and take care of them out of the kindness of your heart. Another definition of love is in the poem “Those Winter Sundays” where love is described as taking care of someone when you don’t have to and they don’t realize that it is love.
What exactly is love ? For centuries, love has been one of the most talked about topics. It has always been described as being one of the best feelings on earth, and one that many cannot live without. Love is a strong emotion that everyone faces through out their lives. Love can be amazing yet cruel. It can lead to devastation or happiness. Love tends to have many turns.Wars have been waged and fought over love. Love is a strong word often used but never meant. Love affects people emotionally, physically and mentally.
Love is having compassion for others, sharing feelings and your life with another person, as well as, having faith in others and forgiving those we love for the any errs that they may make. Most of all, we must be committed to those we love. Of course, this is only my opinion. No matter how long I try to explain what love is ultimately it is up to you, the reader, to define what love is to you. So let me leave you now with the words of the great Humanist Erich Fromm, "Can anything be learned about the art of love, except by practicing it?"
Have you ever been in love? It is one of the most valuable emotions that persons may experience. Therefore, love is considered one of human passion that make us get attached emotionally to persons. Love also leads us to interact with people kindly and respectfully. Everyone has his meaning and feeling for the love, because everyone own different feeling of the love. Love is something familiar to everyone. No matter what a person believes, love is something that is preached all over the world. People all define love differently because of this fact. They have different ideas of what love really is. Love is unselfish, unique, and rare. The idea of love itself is almost indescribable.
Love in my opinion can be defined as such: love is like a lamp post, it shines in the midst of darkness, it lights your paths, and helps you to find your way every time. Love is kind, a comforter. It is not selfish or self contained, love is not limited, love suffers long and bears all things; love never fails. A true evidence of love is action. Love motivates action; it causes you to be faithful, not loosing heart or changing your love. Love is not envious or resentful, but gentle and not easily provoked to anger. Love will cause you to act patiently. Without love none of those things would exist, life loses all meaning with a lack or loss of love, unfeeling and empty would be the state of each human being if love did not exist.
Love is not usually well defined. People often think that they are in love, but they cant explain it. There is a great dealing of confusion of the words love, and infatuation. Love may include romance, infatuation, affection and tenderness. But it could be love if one or more of the elements are not present. The definition of love varies from person to person. Love is essential element for all relationships. Much of what is written about love is either brief or mocking. Society in general is very cruel and heartless toward real love of any kind. Modern writing mocks marriages, husbands and wives, but condones adultery, and other obscene values. Real love is a mystery to most people. Most people never realize the true potential or value of love, nor do they learn to practice the art of love.
Love is something that should be felt or seen. It shows how much someone or something is by having more devotion. Not only knowing how much it can be affected but a choice in life situations.
Love is defined as “strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties” (Merriam-Webster). Despite this simple definition, love is one of the most complex words in the English language. Love is the most sought-after feeling in the world, yet it is nearly impossible to describe what it truly feels like. Love comes in many varieties. However, all true love boils down to one common trait: Caring about someone else more than oneself.
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being. Each human being has his/her own thoughts about love to guide himself/herself to land safely and smoothly into the kingdom of Love. Without this preconceived idea of love, people would be acting like a blind person searching for the light with thousand of obstacles in front of him.
Poets and philosophers for centuries have been trying to answer the question, what is love? Love has an infinite number of definitions, which vary from one person to another. Love cannot be measured by any physical means. One may never know what true love is until love it- self has been experienced. What is love? A four letter word that causes a person to behave in a way that is out of character. What is love? A first kiss, childhood crushes on a teacher or friend’s mom. What is love? A choice that people make by putting their partner’s wishes, desires and needs above everything else. What is love? The act of forgiveness, the infatuation with someone, the communication between two people. What is love? A friendship that turned into a lifelong commitment, that special someone who has vowed to spend the rest of their lives to honor and protect, to love each other “till death do you part.” When in love nothing else in the world matters. According to the online Encarta Dictionary love is the passionate feeling of romantic and sexual desire and longing for somebody. Poets and philosophers may never know what love really is, and we may never truly understand the question what is love.
LOVE... love has many definitions. I believe that love is never selfish, never hurtful. Love is a feeling, a decision and an action. As a feeling LOVE is from the heart. Tender, kind, gentle. Fully accepting of the person for who they are. Love gives and does not expect anything in return. Love gives happiness, support, joy. As a decision, LOVE is accepting a person's faults (we all have them) and not judging them. Love is forgiving and does not get angry. As an action LOVE is being there to support, encourage and share with the person you love, in any situation. Love is wanting to make their every moment a happy one. Love is drying the tears when things are down and rejoicing with him when things are good. When I love, I do so with all my heart. When you are weak, I am strong for you.. When you are hurting I am there to comfort you. When you work for your goals in life, I am there to encourage and support you and when you reach your goal I am there to celebrate and rejoice with you. Love is feeling the same
