What is trust? It's a gut feeling, we don't know how to explain it, it's just there. It's a sign of comfortability but when you take the time to think of it, it's a terrifying idea. To think of how you could put your life in someone's hands, maybe even a stranger, because of trust. It's a concept we are born with, we know who our parents are and we trust them. The scary thing is to think of where this primordial feeling comes from and why it's a part of our DNA. Many of us believe that it is a wonderful and useful attribute, and for the most part it is. Trust comes in many different forms and everyone experiences it differently, but is it really such a good characteristic?

As I mentioned one should be able to trust a parent to love and support their children. We all agree that a part of parenting is taking care of your children and loving them unconditionally. On the other hand, there are parents who do not abide by these basic ideals of parenting. Some fathers or mothers leave their partners on their own to raise the children, this can break the bond of trust. Though that would be entertaining to watch it really wouldn’t do us any good. Without trust, our worlds would only grow more and more lonely as time passed; however, the idea that trust is this amazing life giver and nothing could go wrong is just short of a fairy tale. We as humans don’t have the power to control others actions and opinions. It is a part of human nature to make mistakes. To trust someone with no doubt in your mind would be illogical, you’re basically setting yourself up for disappointment.
