Heroes can be found anywhere. At home, at school, even on the street. A hero doesn’t have to wear a cape or have super-powers, they can be ordinary people. To me, a hero shows kindness, determination and generosity.
Kindness is the brightest light in the darkest times. Kindness shows when someone is willing to help others, say a kind word, or even giving a thumbs up. If my parents weren’t kind, they wouldn’t have been there for me through the hard times. I wouldn’t have had a shoulder to cry on. When my parents got divorced, they both showed me kindness even though they lived in different places. I read about a man named Josh Dueck, who, in the early 2000s, attempted to flip on skis, a routine trick for him, when something went wrong. He landed badly, was rushed to the hospital and was told he had damaged his spine and was paralyzed from the waist down. Instead of stopping his sports life, the injury made Josh determined to get back on the skis.
