Racial segregation is considered an unacceptable act. Racial segregation started during the 1800s through the 1950s. Racial segregation is when one race thinks lowly of another race. It becomes unfair to the race being put down. The most important racial segregation act was between whites and blacks. Three reasons why racial segregation is unacceptable is because of authority, selfishness, and education. First, any power of authority should not agree with an unconstitutional act or injustice because they favor one than the other. Source C states that “Their opponent, the state of Louisiana, argued that the 14th Amendment only applied to nationwide laws, not state-specific laws.” In other words, the 14th Amendment states that all citizens should …show more content…

In Source A it states “Montgomery bus driver James Blake ordered Parks and three other African Americans seated nearby to move (‘Move y’all, I want these two seats,’) to the back of the bus.” To put it differently, a white, named James Blake, is commanding four African Americans to move, even though they had the seat first. With that said, this creates an example of whites being self centered and thinking of themselves. Moreover, “..Blake retorted, ‘Well I’m going to have you arrested.’ And Parks, still sitting next to the window replied softly, ‘You may do that.’” In short, Blake is arresting Rosa Parks because she refused to move to another seat. This also shows how Rosa Parks is trying to give an example to others to stand up for themselves. For example, in Source B the article states that “When the black students, known as ‘Little Rock Nine,’ attempted to enter Central High School, segregationists threatened to gold protests and physically block the students from entering the school.” In other words, many still believe that they are better than blacks. This also shows that even though Little Rock Nine were legally enrolled, many don’t want them to attend because they are black. In addition, “An astonished America watched footage of brutish, white southerners mercilessly harassing African American children calmly walking into school, intent on getting an education” (Source B).This shows that blacks suffered, even after segregation is considered rude and unacceptable. This also shows how hard they worked into attending their dream school, but were on the verge of being kicked out because of their race.
