When businesses experience a slowdown in their computer network system it often results in an overall slowdown in their productivity. The reliance that we have placed upon our computers has grown so much that the slightest deviation from its normal functioning capabilities can be the difference between a productive work environment and one heading in the opposite direction. We often take our computers for granted and expect them to execute our demands at the click of a button. Many department stores are now computer based and do not have any other way to check out a customer if their system go down I remember waiting in line and the store’s computer went many customers left stating they didn’t not want to wait for the system to come back up because of the dependency of computers the store lost many potential customers. Computers are not bad to have and use but to be dependent may not be so good and if a business is dependent on a computer it may want to have a backup system just in case of an emergency.
Computers are ubiquitous. As our society grows towards being a culture connected through the Internet, and as prices of these machines gradually decrease, more and more have been purchased by families for their homes and as a result, children are beginning to learn to use the computer at an earlier age. Even if computers are not presently available at the home, a child will almost certainly be exposed to one at school or the library, among other places.
