1. PURPOSE OF THE DATA
In this spread sheet the purpose of the data was to show the forecast of Humber Computing Solutions for the period of one year for three different services/products. The data represents the income from each product/service and total income and the same for expenditures. There is also a section that shows the amount of hours clients had issues with products/services and what was offered back to them as a way of compensation for any income they could have lost to no fault of their own. The data was supposed to be easy to read and understand by whoever was using the data sheet the graphs and charts were well displayed on their own pages rather than having them all squashed to fit one page.
2. FORMULAS
Although many formulas have been used all are performing the same type of calculation. Each monthly sum is using the add formula to calculate the month by month income. There are many formulas that are possible to use but in this case the add formula was the one that fit the purpose. There are also two IF statements in the data sheet. (Office.microsoft.com, 2014) “The IF function checks to see if a condition you specify is true or false. If true, one thing happens if false, something else happens” as described by the makers of Excel. The IF statements are logical tests so in this data sheet the bonus IF statement =IF(O28

7. TEST PLAN
For all workbooks produced a test plan should be available to be consulted by whoever needs to use the document and can outline how to put issues right if any occur.
In the test plan every aspect that is automated was tested to make sure it worked. One of the routines failed and this was an IF statement the problem was the = was missing from the code and once added the problem was rectified and the test passed.

In Part II, Section D, it mentions that the salaries of the managers are fixed cost while the salaries of the staff are variable costs. I wanted to know how to represent that in my excel spreadsheet. In the meet session, I learned that the fixed salary of the managers amounted to $800,000 and through subtraction from the total salary amount of both the managers and the staff of $6,900,000 resulted in the budgeted variable cost of $6,100,000 for the staff salary. Furthermore, calculating the variable salary of the staff to 10 percent above produces a salary of $6,710,000 while 10 percent below produces a salary amount of $5,490,000. As a result, I was able to complete flexible budget data in my excel spreadsheet.
Table C projects the break even analysis in both units and dollars as a basis for further projections. As seen in Table C substantially larger sales are required to break even.

Starting off with the first task that was being taught in chapter 9 was learning how to record a macro. Macro is a verbatim set of actions that can all be grouped into one action without the repetition of steps that’s needs to be applied. Macro has the ability to eliminate tasks such as selecting range, adding/removing columns and rows, adding the current date to a spreadsheet, and protecting /unprotecting worksheets. Without the macro feature and without fully paying attention one can become distracted and unexpectedly mess up important data collected. In order to work with macros you must select a macro security setting to enable macros when using excel, add the developer tab to the ribbon, and then saving the workbook that includes macros as an excel-macro enabled workbook type of file.
