With the sudden increase of black women embracing their natural hair, chemical relaxer sales dropped 34% from 2009 to 2014 (Sidibe, 2015). This change is caused by a movement born in the early 2000s known as the “Natural Hair Movement.” The Natural Hair Movement motivates black women to love their curly hair and encourages them not to hide it under wigs or chemically alter it with relaxers. Black hair is more than just a style choice to black women, though; it’s a political statement. No one really knows why God gave Caucasians fast growing soft hair and black people slow growing rough hair. As a African American female I can testify that my hair doesn’t grow fast and I am a proud “creamy crack “user so therefore the chemicals from relaxers I use makes my hair straight and bouncy. When my relaxer expires and I need to get another put in my hair, my hair gets stiff and the roots of my hair become harder to comb. Imagine a painting of your life, what colors would be there? How would you show the different times in your life? Would you shade the areas where you had a hard time or use lines to show that? As a future educator, we need make sure that our knowledge is always up-to-date and applicable in the process of teaching and learning from time to time. With these skills, we will be able to improvise and improve the lesson and therefore boost the competency of pupils in the process of learning. In the process of planning a lesson, I have changed my perception on lesson planning from the student’s desk to the teacher’s desk. I have taken the responsibility as a teacher to plan a whole 60-minutes lesson with my group members. This coursework has given me an opportunity

For their community based instruction for that day the students were learning how to behave in a restaurant and were taken to an Italian restaurant to practice how to behave and what to do while they are there. The teacher went through the steps of what to do when you are at a restaurant (enter the restaurant, follow the hostess to the table, sit properly in your seat, order your drinks when they waiter asks what you would like, etc.). The teacher put the students into groups of four with who they will be sitting with at their tables in the restaurant.
