When I finally reached my locker, I collapsed onto the floor. I sat on my knees, unlocked the metal door, and all but threw my things into it. Weighted with exhaustion, I pulled out all the supplies I would need for class before slamming the locker door, and rising to my feet. Just as I was about to turn down the hall, I was alerted by the sudden presence of another person standing in my way. "Alec? What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be in class?" I asked as I calmed my alarm. He shrugged his broad shoulders as he gazed at me with his typical leering smile. "What crime is there in seeing my best friend?" he asked. "It isn't funny. Do you mean from school? No, I'm not skipping school. If I got caught then I would be as good as dead," I shrugged his hands off my shoulders, and I pushed past him. Alec still persisted, and he grabbed me by my waist and pulled me close. "Too bad, you're coming with me," he said with a chuckle. Alec grabbed my hand and began to drag me down the long, empty corridors. "Alec!" I exclaimed as I tried to struggle away from his firm grip. "Relax, Catalina. I promise you that we won't get caught, alright?" He kept going down the halls until we came to large, metal double doors. The air around the area was chilled, and the alcove was only dimly lit by the red glowing exit sign. Alec tried to push the doors open, however they wouldn't budge. "They always keep these doors closed and locked, Alec. We can't get out this way," I told him, but he looked to me with a mischievous smile. "Now Cat, has no one ever told you that no door is truly locked?" Alec keeled and began to tamper with something at the side of the bar handles. Within a moment he stood and opened the doors to the outside. It was hard for me to hide my surprise, but I still glared at him. "Close those doors, I'm not following you," I stated plainly.
