Many people have heard of Saul from the Bible, and many people have heard of Paul from the Bible. However, not so many people know that Saul and Paul were the same person. (Not King Saul, FYI he’s a different dude.) Paul is known for his incredible testimony to Jesus, but in what seems like another life, he was actually a persecutor of Christians, and was responsible for many of their deaths. In this other lifetime his name was Saul. (Acts 7:57 - 8:3) After countless Christians were killed and persecuted under his orders, Saul received an awakening from the one and only Jesus Christ. On a journey to imprison any person who professed faith in Jesus, Saul was visited by Jesus. Jesus sent Ananias to lay hands on Paul, to heal him physically, and to give him a message. The message was that Jesus wanted him to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Now, this man who in the past had been a hater of Jesus and of Christians, became a Christian himself. In fact, he became one of the most inspirational Christians in the Bible. People were in disbelief that Saul had become a disciple of Jesus. There were groups that even tried to murder Saul. Even the disciples were leery at first. However when they realized that Saul was truly evangelizing for Jesus they accepted him, but because of all of the threats on his life they sent Saul away to Tarsus. (Acts
