The main differences between the first biography of Francis Xavier and the second one is that the second one is more specific about Francis during his life, yet the first one talks more about Francis’ impact and what happens after his death, as well as how the Holy Spirit impacted him during his conversion. In the second bio, it explains how Xavier was born in the Castle of Xavier, instead of Javier, in the kingdom of Navarre in 1506 like the first one. One difference is that the first bio actually says the names one of Francis’ brothers, Jasso y Atondo, unlike the first one which only says that he was the youngest of 5 brothers. The second bio also goes in depth to say that his brother earned a doctorate at the University of Bologna, and later becomes the counselor and finance …show more content…

Unlike the first biography, and quite interestingly, the second biography explains that during college, he was focusing on becoming a star athlete, and specifically a fine jumper. Now similarity, both biographies explain Francis’ encounter with Ignatius Loyola, and how Ignatius was much older, Pierre Favre was present, Francis was hesitant to become a priest, his conversion, etc. The only real difference is when the first article explains the effect of the Spiritual Exercises on Francis, as well as the guiding of the Holy Spirit in correlation to Francis’ conversion. The second biography goes on to mention how in 1530, Francis receives many degrees and goes on to teach philosophy at another school. Now, the rest of the article is very similar to the first one, but there are a few key things to mention. Firstly, Francis was not really supposed to do missionary work, until one of their companions in the Society of Jesus became ill, which led to Xavier being sent to Goa,
