The main differences between the first biography of Francis Xavier and the second one is that the second one is more specific about Francis during his life, yet the first one talks more about Francis’ impact and what happens after his death, as well as how the Holy Spirit impacted him during his conversion. In the second bio, it explains how Xavier was born in the Castle of Xavier, instead of Javier, in the kingdom of Navarre in 1506 like the first one. One difference is that the first bio actually says the names one of Francis’ brothers, Jasso y Atondo, unlike the first one which only says that he was the youngest of 5 brothers. Unlike the first biography, and quite interestingly, the second biography explains that during college, he was focusing on becoming a star athlete, and specifically a fine jumper. Now similarity, both biographies explain Francis’ encounter with Ignatius Loyola, and how Ignatius was much older, Pierre Favre was present, Francis was hesitant to become a priest, his conversion, etc. The only real difference is when the first article explains the effect of the Spiritual Exercises on Francis, as well as the guiding of the Holy Spirit in correlation to Francis’ conversion. The second biography goes on to mention how in 1530, Francis receives many degrees and goes on to teach philosophy at another school. Now, the rest of the article is very similar to the first one, but there are a few key things to mention. Firstly, Francis was not really supposed to do missionary work, until one of their companions in the Society of Jesus became ill, which led to Xavier being sent to Goa,
The Roman Catholics were one of the first Europeans to disembark in the New World. In addition, there were the Spanish Catholics. There were two missionary efforts of the Spanish that attempted to convert the Native Americans to Christianity. One of their attempts revolved around the priests and their ability to spread the faith. This attempt did not work for several years, until finally, in 1595, the Franciscans were able to progress with their plans. Furthermore, another attempt was when the Spanish used force to enforce their Christian belief. They were outnumbered by the Indians and therefore brought weaponry and soldiers to keep them at bay. Their reason behind the missionary efforts was that they were ordered to spread Christianity to the Native Americans by a holy spirit.

When he was living with Giemma, he manage to learn Arabic. “I began to listen carefully to everything Giemma and his sons said to each other, and as they showed me how to do my chores. As the days then weeks went by I began to distinguish certain sounds as words, realizing that those words were common, and some of them easily connected to Giemma and Hamid’s gesture and my own work” (38). This shows he was able to learn a new language by just observing and listening to everything Giemma and his sons said. When he went to Cairo he meet a guy named Pyo. He told Francis that he should apply for the UN Refugee statues. When he went for his interview he was told to come back in two weeks. “I was filled with emotion. I stood there hugging people and accepting their congratulations. I smiled for so long that my mouth began to hurt” (144). This changed his life around, he was going to leave Sudan for good. Pope Francis has served as both archbishop and cardinal for more than 12 years. This definitely shows his dedication to follow God's teachings and spread it everywhere he can.
Being a prisoner of war did take a toll on Francis. His body became so sick that he almost died and it took over a year to recover. It was during this year that for the first time in his young life, he did some serious pondering. He explored the age old problems, "What am I?", "Where do I come from?", "Where am I going", "What is this world?" and "What is love?".

The Treaty of Madrid of 1750 with the Spanish and Portuguese caused both havoc and death for the people of the Guarini and the members of the Jesuits. Francis was famous for his love of all creation. He called for simplicity of life, poverty, and humility before God. He worked to care for the poor. Thousands were drawn to his sincerity, piety, and joy. In all his actions, Francis sought to follow fully and literally the way of life demonstrated by Christ in the Gospels. He died in 1226, at the age of 44.
Saint Francis of Assisi was a uniquely spiritual man who gave up a life of wealth and position to lead a life of poverty in accordance and service to God. Embracing a life according to the Gospels, Francis went on to establish a Monastic Order, known as the Franciscans. In the midst of the political climate within the religious community of Italy, Francis emerged a champion for the poor and sick, with humility and no regard for himself. Francis exhibited his love for God through his love and admiration for all of God's creation including nature. The principles of Saint Francis are as relevant today as they were in thirteenth century Italy; service and love to all of God’s creation.
