Some people, like us, live in a democratic society, where we are allowed to express our opinion and to fight against our rights and freedoms. But other societies such as North Korea are a lot different, you do not have a say, the government breaks all basic human rights and they murder, rape, torture, imprisonments, and so on. People in these societies are sad, poor, and do not realize the full potential of life. North Korea is a great example of a dystopian society that has significant social problems, much like other dystopias in movies and books. In The Matrix, the computer's control the society by controlling the world which they live in. They do not care for the happiness of mankind, only that our bodies function as sources of power to them. The use of propaganda in the media is used to brainwash the people that they are living good lives and the a computer leader is much better over a normal human leader. Of course this is not true because the computer does not feel any feelings so the computer will be relentless to be in complete control. In this society people are very unhappy because they are living in terrible conditions and their viewpoint on a utopian society is completely opposite from these conditions, their view on a Utopia is a government that allows people to have basic human rights. Also, this is related to the government in Fahrenheit 451. In the book, the government uses propaganda in the media to get people to think books are bad and that they are illegal. Also, they say that future does not require books, the future is learning from t.v., and other online media sources.
