Psychology understands a person background how they were brought up, the family history and their emotional state of mind. With understanding this people will be better able to find the right way to approach an individual and bring them to Christ. In order for Christianity to reach the heart of the people, the person bringing across the message will have to take care of the person immediate need first. For example, you can’t try to tell a hungry man about god, when he is starving. He will not receive the message; because its main focus will be on the hunger he has, but if you feed him and then tell him about god, the message will be better receive. According to the findings one can state that, although these psychologists varies greatly in both their biblical positions and their psychological and theological sophistication, all of these authors have played a part in bringing psychology to the attention of the church. Base on the finding one can conclude that these weaknesses have resulted in a dearth of writings that are biblically consistent, psychologically “accurate”, and meaningfully integrated at both the conceptual and practical levels. Until these weaknesses are overcome, it will be impossible to have a systematic and comprehensive Christian view of psychology. And it will be impossible to integrate the data of psychology and theology in a way that significantly benefits both disciplines. Like many psychologist such as Sigmund Freud, B.F Skinner and J.B Watson, Carter and Narramore views Christianity and psychology is essentially incompatible with no real possibility for integration. “Proponents of this model frequently set psychology and theology against each other in ways that suggest they are mortal enemies”.
In conclusion I draw agreement with Gray Collins theory of integration that. Christianity and Psychology can be integrated, but not by persons who seek to integrate the two. This can only be achieved when a person Christian faith and psychology have become one as the relationship faith shares with god.
