Imagine there's a knock at the door that echoes throughout the house. An older man struggling to stand up. He’s the man of the house; he walks to the entry and opens the door, seeing his only son back from active duty. Tears well up in his eyes as he embraces his son; feeling the nick of the cold weather on his uniform. The mother hears the laughter from the kitchen and rushes over. Falling to her knees as she sees her son. Every time a family member,or close friend, goes on to serve their country there’s a risk the family and he/she are willing to take. They have no idea if they will come back alive and well. Happiness, love, and freedom, can come from this. The happiness comes from the son coming home. Love is from the love they share. Are they the American Dream? Is happiness, freedom, or even marriage the American Dream? We think that they all of are; The American Dream is different for everyone. Everyone has different experiences in life, making people have different opinions on what they think the American Dream is. Many would argue that when you have the wealth that you are living the American Dream. Not everything can revolve around money and wealth; happiness, love, and freedom can’t be bought with the money you receive. The first thing I think the American Dream is freedom. All races. Men and women are all equal. We have freedom because we have people out there fighting for us to live free. In life we don't have people to tell you what to do when you want to do something. Freedom isn't something that can be apart of the American Dream, one would say. But, Happiness is a large part of the American Dream. Marriage, and even a family is a part of the happiness. Loving others and loving what you do is being happy. When you're happy, you want to stay happy. You don't want anyone to bring you down. If you have everything you need in life like a decent job, you're in school, married, and living a happy life. If you live happy you're part of the American Dream.
