James Truslow Adams once said, “The American Dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement. It is not a dream of motor cars and high wages merely, but a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position.” “The American Dream” is attainable because of hard work,kindness, and to have good wealth with that it is still alive.

Not necessarily, money does help give you a home, food, things other people will actually need. However, the writer of the passage did not really have the doubtful notion of how Vanderbilt made his money, or of how anybody else is to make his. It is mysticism; the horrible mysticism of money. It is saying that there is mystery man that is making a lot of money but don’t know how he is making all of the money. ‘Cornelius,’ the founder of the family, was the first of the great American leader of commerce. He started as the son of a poor farmer; he ended a millionair twenty time over. The name of Vanderbilt is synonymous with wealth gained by modern enterprise. Even though, Vanderbilt is sounding the same or equal to the wealth gained by using business or projects. The founder is someone who helps start the company. The American magnates is leaders who help buying and selling of goods. “In olden days its existence was fully understood. The Greeks enshrined it in the story of Midas, of the 'Golden Touch.’ Here was a man who turned everything he laid his hands upon into gold. His life was a progress amidst riches. Out of everything that came in his way he created the precious metal. 'A foolish legend,' said the wiseacres of the Victorian age. 'A truth,' say we of to-day. We all know of such men. We are ever meeting or reading about such persons who turn everything they touch into gold. Success dogs their very footsteps. Their life's pathway leads unerringly upwards.
