In implementing a strategic plan for Coastal Medical Center, our consulting team has conducted many analyses and formed numerous strategies in order for Coastal Medical Center to be successful. Such assessments include an internal analysis, external analysis, gap analysis, and SWOT analysis. In conducting these analyses, our consulting team was able to better understand the internal environment, external environment, where the organization currently stands in terms of performance, and the major strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that oppose the Coastal Medical Center. From our inquiry, we will be able to establish a strategic plan that best fits the organization’s needs.
According to Allender, Rector, and Warner (2014), public health is a combination of both an art and a science (2014). The mission of public health nursing is to promote health, prevent disease and ultimately prolong life (Allender et al., 2014). In order for this to occur an assessment must take place. An aggregate or community assessment begins with a collection of data. This includes: the community’s health needs, risks, environmental conditions, financial resources through local census data, and a windshield survey (Allender et al., 2014). Through public health nursing, communities can collectively come together to help promote an overall better health standing.

The goal of this team is to vision what the possibilities are in the health care industry and through brainstorming, data analysis, and trending determine what AHC should look like and be like regarding culture, product, service, etc. in 2020. This is activity is very much a conventional way of strategic planning as the leaders look internally and externally, determine strategy for the next 3 -5 years that will help the organization accomplish its vision and mission (McNamara, n.d.). Quality improvement initiatives are effective only when the organizational structure and culture are aligned with a similar vision for the provision of quality care delivery and a commitment to continuous improvement. Organizations must take an active approach to measure, assess, and improve processes creating an environment supporting quality improvement initiatives (Spath, 2014). The creation of this type of environment should be evident from the top tier of leadership to the front-line employees, creating a culture supporting the delivery and sustainability of quality care. The following paragraphs will identify and discuss the authority structure of the quality improvement plan including the roles and responsibilities of the members involved in the plan implementation. Additional discussion will include the roles of communication, education, and evaluation of the quality improvement plan. Finally, identification and discussion of the impact external entities have on the project and the strategies needed to overcome potential challenges to the project implementation.
Customer value is defined as "the perceived benefit of a product, used by customers to determine whether or not to buy the product" (Lussier, 2006). I do believe that most customer's focus on creating customer value. It is an aspect needed in order to sell anything.
