Perspectives on Humor
Humor is a globally used phenomenon that comedians and people in general use everyday. Many people have their own views on humor and how people should use it and when to use it. However, what makes comedy funny to one group of people and not the other? I definitely believe that it depends on the kind of audience a comedian has. No one can ever tell when is the right time to for humor after a devastating event. Humorous situations come naturally.

A perfect example of comedian who used humor on a serious personal situation inside of serious situation that effected thousands of people is Pete Davidson. There was a show on TV and it was a few comedians joking on Justin Bieber. Kevin Hart, who is my favorite comedian, was …show more content…

A comedian in particular who is always finding humor in his life whether it is about how short he is or not being able to hang out with athletes is Kevin Hart. In fact, the type of comedy he does is known as self deprecation comedy. Self-deprecation is the act of reprimanding oneself by belittling, undervaluing, or disparaging oneself, or being excessively modest (dictionary). I believe this is considered virtue ethics. Virtue ethics states that “character matters above all else. Living an ethical life, or acting rightly, requires developing and demonstrating the virtues of courage, compassion, wisdom, and temperance. It also requires the avoidance of vices like greed, jealousy, and selfishness.”(http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/ethics-for-dummies-cheat-sheet.html) ) If everyone were to live by the definition of virtue ethics no one would care as much about his or her own foibles and stupidities because everyone would understand that
