College athletes getting paid has been a big debate for a while now. It is a big topic during big college sporting events such as beginning of football season and NCAA tournaments. College players put in a lot of time to entertain us but they should not get paid.
One major reason why they shouldn't get paid is because they get scholarships from the schools which helps them get into the college so they can represent and be apart of the school. A lot of times they get to go free to school because they got a lot of scholarships so they do not have to worry about loans and such things. This would be a big factor for students because they can do what they love for 4 years and not have to worry about a thing. On top of that people think they should be paid? What good does that do?
The second reason is fair and equal pay. If you are going to pay an athlete, then they should all get paid equally. That would be very hard because a lot of college athletes don't get aired on national television in front of a lot of people but some do. I don't feel like they should get paid as much if they were to get paid because they aren't in front of millions of people but that would not be fair because they work just as hard but some play at colleges that are not very popular or in different sports that aren't really …show more content…

They should be paid just the same because they work as hard as everyone else. The professional men's sports tend to be more popular than woman's sports which leads to unfair pay such as Men's and Woman's soccer players. Men's soccer players make a lot more than female soccer players and that is a huge debate. Since more people watch the men's does that mean they should be paid more? If so that would be completely unfair because they can't control the likes and rating of everyone and the sports that they are naturally talented to be apart of. They can't pick to be a girl or boy so they could get paid more. That is why they should not get
