Some life lessons are better to be learned at an early stage at life and for my situation it’s good that I did. I learned that one should never depend on others when it comes to doing your own work. You have to work hard to get what you want, you can’t just wait for others to do it for you. This is one of the toughest lessons I learned and it’s good that I learned it. Although, it was tough for me the way I learned it. It all began when I was in a group of four in my AP U.S. History class. My peers and I would get a lot of work from our teacher and eventually we all figured out that if we were going to keep up with our college classes and our high school classes then we were going to have to work in teams. So, we all decided to split up our work in order to stay on top of our work. The thing was that we could only sit in groups of four and my main friends were already in a group of four, meaning I was going to find another group to sit with. What I didn’t know was that it was going to be a lot easier to just do my work alone. I decided to be in a group with my other friends. Then it turned out I was wrong, one of the girl had a job and worked late and another girl had to take care of her siblings and the last girl just didn’t care. No one had told me a single thing that they had trouble they just thought everything was going to be alright. The only thing I could do was try to finish as much as I could before the period was over and turn in what I had. I dint get such a good grade for that week’s assignment and after that I had learned that the group of girls I was in was planning to drop the AP class and that they didn’t care what they got in the

College Admissions Essay If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there.
The experience of the APEC Youth Science festival was incredible. It has had an enormous impact on me in many ways, changing the way I look at the world and connecting me with people and events far beyond my formerly limited experience. I am extremely glad to have had this opportunity. It was a wonderful experience on multiple levels. It challenged me and expanded me intellectually and socially. I feel that this experience has had an immense impact on me.
I’m tired of looking at the next person and wishing I was in their position. I’m tired of making excuses and pitying myself while letting opportunities slip away. From this moment onward, I am throwing away self doubt in order to take the coming steps in my life at Rutgers University. A Rutgers degree would not only mean a top tier education from one of the best schools in the world, more importantly, it would give me stability and a platform to go after my dreams. I'm so happy that our school runs a program like this that allows students to see the different cultures around the world. I would love to participate because I would love to see the culture and because when I grow up I hope to have a job that heavily involves speaking a different language. I have heard that when you immerse yourself into the culture you get a greater understanding of the language and I believe this could help me with the studies I intend to peruse. I have not participated in WMS community service but I feel this would be a great way to show me what it's all about and how I can help in my own community. Albert Einstein once stated “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving”. Throughout my life, I have faced numerous obstacles, which have forced me to keep pedaling even when my balance was gradually becoming unstable. Approximately 2 years ago, my family and I decided to move from Kansas to Washington since my father acquired a position at Microsoft. As you might imagine leaving everything you have come to cherish over the past 16 years of your life would be extremely difficult. However, I persevered and kept my balance as I escalated up this steep hill. In a few months, nearly all of us will experience a new hill waiting to be conquered. This hill is called college. All of us who choose to undergo this challenge will struggle and several of us will venture off course, but the remaining persistent bikers will surmount this hill and end up with a degree. In my case, I’m going to kick my legs into 5th gear and start ascending this hill at Bellevue College.
I am becoming someone who will prove to those younger than me that no matter what, anyone can be what they desire if the required effort is given. I am becoming an individual who his main goal is to strive to help others, whether it is reach a goal, accomplish a task, or even play a part in making a life changing decision.

One of my most memorable event that took place while I was at High Point was during my junior year. I remember that I was going through a phase in my life. I was changing into someone who is stronger, ambitious, and more determine in life. This event occur over a period of several months. It involve some of my closest and best friends that I will ever have. This little incident had particularly changed the course of my life and would forever leave a mark in my life.
Life is like a book, I read a book turning page by page, like I go through life day by day, until one day I end a chapter of the book to start a new one, like I end a chapter of my life to start a new chapter. Never wish life to go by faster because when that chapter of your life is over you are going to want it back and you are going to remember that it was one of the most memorable chapters of your life. Unlike a book you cannot turn the page back, it stays as a distant memory that you can never relive or take back.
I am often asked “What do you want to be when you’re older?” or “A Political Science degree? What do you suppose you will do with that?” And honestly, I cannot say for certain. But that’s ok, because these questions are not necessarily intended to be answered with absolute certainty. After all, no one really expects a 17 or 18 year old high school senior, whose only experiences are likely limited to what a K-12 education, a few extracurricular activities, and perhaps a part-time job can offer, to make an uninformed prediction about what he or she wants to do every day for the rest of his or her life. The way I see it, I still have eight semesters worth of college classes, perhaps a few internships or international experiences, hundreds of people to meet, and four more years of life to experience before I make my career decision. In that time, I may discover that my passions and interests are different than they are now, especially considering they have changed before.
My semester of study abroad is best described as an intense learning experience, without which I feel that my education would have been incomplete. The lessons learned were far different from those I encountered in high school, but of equal or greater importance. I gained new perspective about international affairs and also found I was challenged as an individual to grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally. There is no doubt that this experience has changed me, and I am certainly better for it.
I have always regarded myself with having the best work ethic of anyone I knew. When at high school, I thought as myself as the best all-around student, and person. Being highly regarded by both faculty and students was a great confidence boost when I began my college application process, but I soon realized how it was hard to but all of my accomplishments, into a very short essay. I was not, and still am not the best academically in my class, but to me, it doesn’t matter if my GPA isn’t a 4.0 or if I didn’t graduate valedictorian of my class. What I know is I possess skills that make me the best candidate for anything I want to pursue.
As I look back on my life, I can truly say that I am grateful for the opportunity to start again. My family flied our war and politically torn country of Eritrea four years ago, seeking shelter here. Through my parent's struggles to build a better life for all of us, I have gained a deep appreciation for hard work and dedication which I applied to my education to achieve my dreams.
There are numerous lessons that I have learned from life, they were lessons that I learned from good and bad experiences in life. Different experiences from school and out of school that has made me the way I am today. There is a long list of experiences that in reality did not teach me much.
