The objective of this research was to compare and contrast the level of concern about climate change and the opinions towards climate change among overseas students studying in Australia with those of local people in Australia, United Kingdom, United States and Europe overseas students studying at Eynesbury College in Adelaide. The findings of this research rejected the hypothesis that both international students studying in Australia and local people in Australia, United Kingdom, United States and Europe have similar opinions about climate change, but overseas students have a higher level of concern about climate change than the local people in Australia, United Kingdom, The United States and Europe. This was quite different with study conducted by Ipsos MORI(2010, n.p.) which found that most of British people felt the national governments followed by international community should be responsible for taking action against climate change (32% and 30% respectively) . Also, this finding was in disagreement with the research done by the European Parliament & European Commission (2008, p.8), which indicated that European people believed that governments and industry were mainly responsible for fighting against climate change. This could be because the majority of international students are young age ,so they do not have experience of climate change and who is responsible for addressing the climate change ,therefore they might be considered the whole world as responsible about climate change .On the other hand , British people and Europeans believed that the governments should be mainly responsible about climate change that may be due to the age and experience possessed by these people through coexistence with weather conditions over the years ,so they probably believe that the governments should begin to put urgent plans for addressing this …show more content…
