In order to clean a trumpet the best way is by having the proper equipment to clean it with, taking all the valves apart, and pulling out any slides that cannot stay in there.

This essay will be talking about how to clean a trumpet the best way possible. First start out by having all the proper equipment that would be needed like: a bore-brush, bath water for the instrument to soak in, and lubricants, which is slide grease. This essay will take the reader step by step on what to do in cleaning a instrument and why it is important to always keep the instrument in tip top shape.

The first step to do is needing to have the proper equipment, the first thing that will need to run either the bathtub or a huge sink full of moderately warm water. The reason this would be done is used to clean the inside of the horn the residue that stayed after the trumpet had soaked, the bore brush is not harmful to the trumpet it will not cause any scratches externally and internally to the horn. The last thing that you would need for equipment would be the lubricants which would be the slide grease for when the horn is clean and dry and able to have the slides slide back in without any complications. the trumpet needs to soak so that way the rust and the gunk that is inside the trumpet can get everything out that it can. First thing to do is taking the valves apart are removing the valve cap, to do that all that is need to be done is unscrewing the cap that is needed. Next take the valve out of the valve cap by doing that you would just pull the valve out of the cap. The last thing that you need to do by taking the valves out is by taking all the pads that cannot get wet, those are the ones right under the valve fingerings. That is the last thing that the washer would do when they are taking the valve
