Since the Invention of the spoken language humans have told stories, and over hundreds of years these stories were spread and were changed. William Blake believed that all myths and religions started from the same place. That two completely unrelated sets of beliefs, like the Greeks and the Christians, could have many similarities. The Greek Mythology has many sons(and daughters) of gods, but only one bares a resemblance too Christ, Hercules. Christ was unique in that he was the son of God, but born of a human. Hercules was similar, he was half god and half human, a demigod. Hercules was the son of Zeus, the king of the Greek gods, and Jesus Christ was the son of the king of the Christian theology. Both Hercules’s and Jesus’s lives were threatened during infancy. Christ was hunted by a jealous king named Herod, and Hercules was attacked by serpents sent by Zeus’s jealous wife Hera. The number 12 appears in both stories. Jesus is known for his 12 disciples, and Hercules is known for his 12 labors. Both also met their end at the hands of one close to them. Jesus was betrayed by Judas, one of his disciples, and Hercules was poisoned by his wife, Deianira. After their Deaths both ascended to live with their
