Recommended: Stereotypes shown in american born Chinese

As a female who is Chinese-American, I have many restrictions. Being Chinese, I have very strict schedule and curfew than others because Chinese parents tend to be very strict with their children.

As Chinese, people always stereotyped me as a person who is doing perfectly in school. However, I am not the person who is perfect or someone who strives every day to perfection. I’m just a normal human being just like others and not always perfect, and make mistakes from time to time.

For being a female, I believe that we females can do many things just like what males can do and we should not be stereotyped by the gender who we are.

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua is an engulfing novel which clearly distinguishes the difference between Western style of parenting and the Chinese style of parenting. The quote stated above shows some of the statistics that we completed to write this book. The story is a breathless and emotional memoir of Amy Chua, consisting mostly her two daughters and husband. While the Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother appears to be about the battle between a parent and a child and the relationship they share, the author, Amy Chua, has actually implied that it is important for the children to start developing skills early on to benefit in the future as well as be successful in their lives.
