Observation plan childhood is the most important phase, it is not about teaching only, but also because it related to learning and exploring the world around the young children.
Why we do observation for children? according to Cohen and Stem young children not able to express by talking, they express themselves or their feelings in action and using their face expressions and these probable be noted in natural circumstances or designed assessment.
Observation is a very important. It plays an essential role in meeting all the developmental needs of individual children by watching, listening, and noting the activities of the child.
Observation gives us a chance to know the child deeply as an individual. Observation makes us discover new skills
• Objective: How does the child interact with others "communication" and motor development "movement"
Esmeralda 14 months, she has green eyes short red hair and freckles all over her face, she is playing on the floor of her room.
The room quite big, there is a small bed for Esmeralda and sofa, the room seems comfortable and safe.
Esmeralda is sitting on the floor surrounded by her toys, and her father sits in front of her.
She starts to give her father the toys and giving him blocks one by one, she looks enjoyed with the reaction of her father.
Esmeralda reclines forward, and snatches a block and hand it to her father and looks at his face and her mouth open as she waits to see his reaction.
He tells her that the paper and colors on the block, she gestures her head forward, and she picks up another block.
She continued doing that five times. After that she grovels a cross the floor until reaches to a toy van.
She pushes it for a few moments, then she looks at her father, to see what he is doing, and pushes the van toy toward
When Esperanza’s mother has to go to the hospital I wonder if her depression will get worse if she is away from her family. It is so sad that Esperanza feels like she failed her mother. That must be the worst feeling. I think that the mother is going to die and I don’t know how Esperanza is going to take care of herself. It is impressive that she starts to work.
Behavioral observations of Eleni. The child keeps asking if this is a spa or apartment for people. She is repetitive in her statement. She also keeps lifting and throwing her shoes in the air. She sits with legs up. She laughs at times without a clear stimulus. She continues to show her legs spread, even when asked to sit properly. She is restless in the chair. She doesn’t answer questions directly. She appears to understand but the information is not consistent. For example, she reports that she has a little brother. When inquiry is made she then says she has a dog, not really a brother. She starts to make up stories that have nothing to do with the questions. She subsequently says she doesn’t hear the question-the responses are highly idiosyncratic. At times she makes off screechy voices.
She heard a car coming up thru the driveway, a car she did not recall at the moment. “It w...
Kidwatching shows many different things when it comes to collecting data on how a student or student’s learn over a period of time. When doing kidwatching observations, it is important to monitor everything that could have an influence on a student’s performance. Different things such as resources, environments, interactions, etc. are a few things that can affect a student when it comes to learning. Being able to kidwatch at Killian Elementary, I’ve been able to collect a great deal of data when it comes to seeing a student as a scientist. This opportunity has allowed me to look at teaching science many different ways that can show how much students are interested and how much he/she understands.
Lots of observations were collected whilst the children were making their maps and working together to find the word treasure, so I have highlighted just a few to address the overall understandings of the findings.
and heaves the huge blade at her head. She sees his surprise as his sword
... They didn’t seem to be my feet anymore. And the garden that had been such a good place to play didn’t seem mine either” (Cisneros 98). The play place that was once so innocent and is now a junkyard that reciprocates Esperanza’s innocence that slowly turns into reality. She is growing up. Additionally, she gains enough confidence and maturity to make her own life decisions. This is shown when she makes the important decision of where she wants her life to take her. “I have decided not to grow up tame like the others who lay their necks on the threshold waiting for the ball and chain” (Cisneros 88). This shows Esperanza’s maturity to make her own life choices by herself. She is finally confident and independent enough to know where she wants her life to take her. Esperanza finally completes her evolution from young and immature to adult-like and confident.
Observation allows researchers to experience a specific aspect of social life and get a firsthand look at a trend, institution or behaviour. It promotes good communication skills, improves decision making and enhances awareness.
...rst step in a research program. In my observation, I studied different concepts of psychology that are critical in influencing a child development and understands different human behavior as they take place in a daily setting. This gave me an opportunity to notice the participant’s natural behavior, which reduces minimizes biases in my observation and also can be further used as a rich source of hypotheses. As one investigator commented, "The major strength of naturalistic observation is that it allows researchers to study behavior under conditions that are less artificial than in experiments” (Weiten, 2008, p. 347).
Child development and growth observation can be quite fascinating considering the uniqueness of each child. As children grow, they normally develop and acquire new skills whether complex or not. The abilities experienced by each child progresses differently that is it depends on the nurturing given by the parent or guardian and on the characteristics that they inherit. Proper development and growth of the child occurs when basic needs are provided by the reliable adult guardians, including such things as love, food, encouragement, shelter and warmth. The essay evaluates child development and growth through observation conducted by myself on my nephew. The essay will include physical development, general health, emotional development,
The location of the observation was at the Community Center (Early Childhood education program) at 11:00am to 12:30pm on April 15, 2014. The meaningful experiences in early childhood education can positively shape children's development. With a teacher is guidance authentic child-art activity can educate enrich young students' learning abilities, encourage positive attitudes toward other children, and more importantly, learn to interact with people around them in the contemporary world. However, art for young students often takes many diversified approaches and emphasizing questionable practices. Observation is a part of meaningful and authentic early childhood art education. Observation enriches children’s experiences in their environment, gives them motivation to study, interact with other children and follow the practices of their adult models. Moreover, they develop strategies and skills to represent objects in their environment.
Observation is important as the practitioner can find out what the child is interested in and what motivates them to learn alongside their progress and how they behave in certain situations, additionally at the same time it identifies if children need assistance within certain areas of learning or socially (DCSF, 2008). Furthermore the observations check that the child is safe, contented, healthy and developing normally within the classroom or early years setting, over time the observations can be given to parents as they show a record of progress which helps to settle the parent and feel more comfortable about their child’s education. Observations are not only constructive within learning about an individual child, they can be used to see how different groups of children behave in the same situation and how adults communicate and deal with children’s behaviour (Meggitt and Walker, 2004). Overall observations should always look at the positives of what children can complete within education and not look at the negatives and all observations should become a fundamental part of all practitioners work alongside reflection (Smidt, 2009).
Stepping forward, “Damn it Marie, STOP IT.” He grabs for the hammer, but Marie’s anger has made her stronger than he anticipated. She pushes hard to get closer and brings her knee up into his groin, using all her anger and bitterness to power the thrust. He grunts in shock as he goes down onto his knees, holding his crotch.
Understanding and observing a child’s development and learning skills. Progress can then be assessed and next steps can be planned to ensure the child keeps on developing.
Observation, combined with anecdotal records, is essential, especially in the early grades. By observing and keeping track of these observations, teachers are able to tell a lot about their students. For example, they can see how they interact socially with other peers as well as how well they carry out a given task. I am inclined to be an early elementary teacher, in grades K-3. The first years of school are my ideal age group. The early childhood stage is a time when children develop the most. They are developi...
