Children and young people are monitored in different ways for their growth and development. OBSERVATION- Observing the children or young people help us to learn about them so much. It gives us an idea about their learning style, needs behaviour, patterns etc. Daily observations, taking photos of the activities the child does, closely interacting with the child, observing them while they do a given task enables the practitioner to get a better understanding of the childâ€TMs individuality. Observation is an important part in monitoring a child as it helps to know the stages of development and give extra support if needed. It helps to identify in the early ages the childâ€TMs additional needs and promote coordinated service provision to meet them. RECORDING THE CHILDâ€TMS PROGRESS-The teachers keep a record of each childâ€TMs literacy and numeracy skills. This kind of monitoring helps them to set the childâ€TMs personal learning goals. A CHILD OR YOUNG PERSOM WILL BE HAVING A READING RECORD, WHICH WILL BE CHECKED BY THE teaching assistants to make sure that the child is reading at home. For younger children, there will be learning journals kept for each child and contain the childâ€TMs biggest achievements that are personal to the child and provide an accurate reading of childrenâ€TMs development. Teachers also take feedback from parents and carers about the child to know any concerns about their development because cares spend more time with them and aware of them well. The school will be having regular visits from health visitors and external agencies.
