The mindset people adopt can influence the way they evaluate options and make choices, which makes a huge difference in the quality of life they live. For example, A Pace student is walking down John St. and decides to grab a snack, possibly focused on finding something tasty, until they happen to walk past a gym or health food store. In one hand, this person can think in the present and decide to eat a Twinkie to satisfy their hunger, but in the other hand this person could wait to eat something healthy to avoid gaining the “freshman 15”. I’ve come about many instances in my life where I spent a lot of time weighing the two contradicting standpoints. As I said previously an excess in anything is a bad thing, same goes for planning. There is such a thing as too much planning. People often get paralyzed by endless efforts to perfect their plan, trying to make sure there is no possibility for error. They forget that nothing in life is perfect and that even the most detailed plan is still hypothetical, nothing is constant. They waste their time perfecting their plans meanwhile they do nothing to put their plans into action.
