The Civil Rights movement was an event that made drastic changes in America. Labor union organizer and civil rights leader Cesar Chavez made rhetorical choices to develop his argument on nonviolent resistance; focusing on helping those in need. Cesar Chavez principles on non violence stood upon historical figures with the same values, logical support, and contrast. Cesar believed nonviolence was the key to victory.

Cesar Chavez, a civil rights activist, was a major proponent of workers’ rights in Hispanic history. Cesar was born in 1927, in Yuma, Arizona, as a Mexican- American. He grew up in a large family of ranchers and grocery store owners. His family lived in a small adobe house, which was taken away during the Great Depression. In order to receive ownership of the house, his father had to clear eighty acres. Unfortunately, after his father cleared the land, the agreement was broken, and the family was unable to purchase the house. Since Cesar’s family was homeless, they had to become migrant farmers. In order to find work, they relocated to California.
During the 1960s there were many civil right movement activists such as Cesar Chavez. Cesar Chavez was born on March 31st in the North Gila River Valley outside Yuma. During his years, Chavez has accomplished many things that have changed farm laborers for the better. When he was young his family lost their farm due to the Great Depression and they became migrant workers. They had to move to several different places so that they could find work, which meant that every time they moved, Chavez had to change schools. By the time he finished the 8th grade he dropped out of school to become a full time migrant worker to help his family out.
Cesar Chavez was a Mexican-American who was born on March 31, 1927 as a child he spent most of his time working on a farm. Later he would become a strong union leader and labor organizer. He would also dedicate his life to improving pay and working conditions for many farm workers. As a former farm worker himself he knew too well the hardships and conditions that they faced daily. Later in his life he would lead a boycott that would result in guaranteeing farm workers the right to unionize.
The civil rights movement, by many people, is though to have happened during the 1950's and 1960's. The truth of the matter is that civil right has and always will be an ongoing issue for anyone who is not of color. The civil rights movement started when the black slave started arriving in America centuries ago. The civil rights movement is one of the most known about issues in American history. Everyone at some point in their life has studied this movement. This movement is particularly interesting due to the massive amounts of different stories and occurrences through the course of the movement. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a vital figurehead to this movement. He inspired many people who had lived their whole lives in the shadow of fear of change.
Cesar Chavez was able to win the Civil Rights Battle by being dedicated and committed to his goal, having confidence that his strategic plans would work, and by influencing important and famous people to give him their support. Through his boycotts, marches, and strikes Cesar Chavez achieved what he wanted for the people, which was better working conditions, better pay, and better treatment of workers. Cesar Chavez is now recognized as the Martin Luther King Jr. of the migrant farm workers, and of the Mexican People.
The Civil Rights Movement changed American Democracy today in its fight against racial segregation and discrimination. We still see racial discrimination today, but we don’t see much racial segregation. People like Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and A Philip Randolph led the Civil Rights Movement with their abilities to coordinate and connect people. They fought for equality among men and women of all colors and religions.
Cesar Chavez a great man that changed the many injustices done to immigrate field workers, injustices like minimum wage, long work hours, and living conditions. We will learn how marches, strikes, and fasting help them conquer the changes they wanted. How he started the union. We will read what a great legacy he left behind, and how now a day his legacy lives on. What kind of legacy will we leave behind? That is why we have to help people we come in contact with, to show our children to help other, be humble and love each other.
