Causes of Social Injustice
When thinking of events that influenced a social injustice world, the first thing that came to mind was the death of Philando Reynolds. Philando Reynolds, a black man who was shot by a police officer in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. Philando Castile was shot by Officer Jeronimo Yanez, who stopped Philando because he allegedly fit the description of a robber. Philando was shot in the driver’s seat of the vehicle while he was reaching for his ID after he told Officer Yanez he had a gun permit and was armed. As Philando sat in his car covered in blood for doing nothing wrong, his girlfriend and four-year-old daughter saw everything that happened. This moment was the breaking point for myself, because Minnesota is only hours away from South Dakota and Philando did absolutely nothing wrong, and his daughter witnessed the death of her father at the age of four. I believe this is one of the most disgusted police officer shooting of them all, because this situation was never supposed to happen.

Dan Ariely and Norton recorded the people believe the wealth distribution of America was and compared to what it was, they quoted that, “Respondents vastly underestimated the actual level of wealth inequality in the United States, believing that the wealthiest quintile held about 59% of the wealth when the actual number is closer to 84%.” The gap of wealth inequality is very large and I believe that as a decision to tax the rich more than the poor should be something that our government should do. Taxing the rich would bring in more money, while the poor would still pay their portion of taxes, but less would be taken from them due to the different.
