Technology related careers are some of most sought after careers today. It is also the industry with the most growth. According to a recent report in US News World Report software developers ranked second and five in the top five IT careers. Salaries have increased by 4.1% for computer science related fields. This is good for anyone considering a career because it gives one hope that they’ll be able to make a good life for themselves in an exciting field. As a kind of “newbie” in the industry there are several areas that have my interest. With so many options it is hard to pick. What I have found is a position in Atlanta, GA that I would love to have and I do hope there is something like it once I get more experience and code language knowledge under my belt. It is the Jr/Mid Level Java Developer with Choice Technology Group. Choice Technology Group helps to recruit those qualified and interested for different IT jobs. They do have another position for more experienced developers to learn Ruby On Rails as there is a shortage of programmers and developers in this language but the Jr/Mid Level Java Developer does not call for as much experience going in and it seems to make more sense to me to work my way up in a company. The Jr/Mid Level Java Developer (the client’s software engineers in this case) are supposed to create and maintain web and mobile software applications. The developers or engineers are responsible for all the steps in the system development and program life cycle. As with most IT careers it is a fast-paced environment and those who apply must be able to handle this. A candidate must be able to communicate well, have the ability to work with other departments in the organization/company, the ability to p... ... middle of paper ... ...ary. As always, you MUST continue learning. IT is never a static field where nothing changes. Things change every minute. New editions to programs and languages are always coming out. Sometimes this involves self-study and that may not be good for some people who require different kinds of learning. (Those who require an in class experience like a lecture for example) As said before, there are so many exciting fields to venture into. It seems whatever you do you can hope to make decent money and be involved in a fast-paced and ever changing career that should never leave you bored.
