Can’t Buy Me Love Have you ever been in love? Loved someone or even tried to buy love? Well, you are not alone. Ronald Miller rented Cindy Mancini for $1000 just so he could become popular. This film was shot at Tucson High School in Tucson, Arizona. Can’t Buy Me Love received mixed reviews from several critics. In 2006, it ranked number 41 on Entertainment Weekly’s list of the 50 best high school movies. In this essay, I will tell you about New Year’s Eve, the mood of the party and the main characters. Ronald Miller had a crush on Cindy Mancini for years, but sadly she does not even know his name or that he even exists. The difference between these two are Cindy’s idea of a Saturday night are parties and friends. Ronald makes plans to play poker with his not so popular nerdy friends. Cindy at the New Year’s Eve party and has been drinking straight vodka out of a punch bowl, so she is quite drunk and unable to make good decisions. Even though college football star Bobby still has not given Cindy a call she does not let it bother her. Cindy covers up her hurt feelings by partying and pretending she is not hurt. It was all fine and good until Cindy saw Ronald with Iris in the bathroom loving on each other and Ronald repeating Cindy’s poem words to Iris really hit a nerve. Then Bobby showed up and was talking to Quint and Ricky about Cindy and once he heard all about that he was angry with Cindy. Cindy then was totally mad with Ronald not only about what he told Iris but about the whole “fake” dating situation. Cindy tells the whole party about the dating arrangement and embarrassed Ronald and he was told to leave so now that leaves Ronald unpopular once again.
