How can power show someone's true colors? Power something that people crave. With enough power a person can do whatever they want. If you give someone a lot of power does it cause them to change? Or does it just show you who they really are and what they truly desire. The concept of power has always intrigued me because I don’t know what I would do if I had a lot of it. Would I use it to control the people or to help them? This is something I have thought about over and over again but can never decide which I would choose. A lot of the time that question leads to more like is it better to be feared or to be loved? In a position of power it is up to you to choose which one you want to be or if you want to try and keep a balance.

This is essence means that any person can make it through the hard times. Then he goes on by saying “but if you really want to test a man’s character give him power”. This is saying that the best way to test someone’s true morals is to give them the power to do what they want. I think he used the words to pull people in. These words do a good job at that because they aren’t overly complex. They are words that have a deeper meaning behind them like power, adversity and character . Then there are the simple words like man and test.
Throughout time there have been violent dictators and kings that abuse their power and there have been leaders who haven't as well. I think the word was improved by this quote because it causes people to truly think about the power they have and the power than could have. They have to think about whether or not they would abuse it or use it for good. This idea of power being abused is something that isn't new it has been like this
