Recommended: Parts of the brain and their functions essay

In an average person's day, he or she will use most, if not all, of the brain's functions. Different parts of the brain are related to different actions; for example, the motor cortex sends information to our motor neurons, enabling us to move around. For going to a friend's house, many parts of the brain will be used, but four of them – the Broca’s area, hippocampus, hypothalamus, and occipital lobe – will be the focus of this assignment. Firstly, Broca’s area is named after Paul Broca, who was known for his research on how the area is involved with language skills. (ACENTA,2003) Some indicators of a person struggling with an auditory decoding deficit would be weakness in semantics, difficulty with reading and spelling, and frequently mishearing information. Another problem associated with auditory processing is binaural integration/separation deficit. This occurs in the corpus callosum and is a result of poor communication between the two hemispheres of the brain.
