One of the greatest movies that took place in the Middle Ages was Braveheart. Mel Gibson, most likely best movie, had a great affect on society today. It tought many people of what it was like back in the
1300’s.
First of all, Braveheart was a movie about the early Scottish people. The main character, William Wallace, played by Mel Gibson, is part of a rebel family towards the
King. Edward the Longshanks is a selfish king and not a lot of people like him. Only the ones that work for him. As Williams father fails at getting the Scottish their freedom,
William follows in his fathers footsteps and he begins his long quest to make Scotland free once and for all, along with the assistance of Robert the Bruce. Other assistance comes from his friends Hamish and Stephan. Can William Wallace get Scotland their freedom.
The rise of a town can be an impossible thing to accomplish for many. This includes being a good leader and having certain characteristics. For example, you leadership must be fair to all that you represent. A group of rebellions can come just like that if you are not fair to them. Feeding, clothing, and other things must all be provided.
Plus, protection is needed in case of invasion by other countries. This would require training your people with weapons and teaching them how to defend themselves and be brave when told to “CHARGE!”
Another characteristic of your town to rise to the top is having good relationships with surrounding countries. You ha...
William Wallace was so famous among the Scots that they made a movie about him. The movie was directed by Mel Gibson, and originally written as a book by Randall Wallace. Mel Gibson played William Wallace. In the movie, William goes on his rampage against the English after his wife was attacked by an English soldier. This epic drama was so well received that it won 5 academy awards. Of course like all movies based on historical events, it was filled with assumptions and exaggerations.
Wallace was fighting for his concrete beliefs and ideals. Although it was sparked by the murder of his wife and father. He was prepared to be a martyr, although all he really wanted was to have a family and a farm. He was willing to give his life for the future of his country, which says something about his character. He was finally betrayed again and handed over to the throne to be tortured and killed.
Longshanks, and how he gets almost the entire country of Scotland to back him up in his
What Stone points out that is very interesting and relevant to western culture is that the Indo-Europeans were always in continual conflict with not only the people of the lands that they invaded but between themselves as well. In Braveheart, the Irish and English were in conflict with each other and the English took over Ireland, both the Irish and English live in filth, in cottages where they raise their family, the men provide for their family and the woman are married off so they can find a man to provide for them, they are barbaric the way they live and the way they are perceived, this film also shows the patriarchal society and the misogyny ways of the Europeans and how they treat their women the king even made a law allowing their men to take and rape the Irish women even if they were married, the women had no say the kings son who was next in line to be on throne was gay and had to marry a woman to reproduce but the woman had no say and was not respected or shown in a powerful light. The main character William Wallace made his childhood love at night because he feared would tried to take her if they found out about the marriage and even still one of the English

This semester along with participating in LTC over the summer I’ve learned leadership is more than being in charge. It’s about, “utilizing and developing skills to influence a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.” The goal is attained by mutual cooperation and cohesive behavior. A leader infuses a sense of positivity and directs others to reach the specified goal. An individual who stands not only for his cause but takes responsibility and motivates others also. There is a clear difference between being a boss and a leader. A leader is a motivator for others and inspires individuals to aim high and attain that aim. However a boss only supervises over his subordinates. Power naturally comes to a leader but that power is not a tool of leader. Rather if one tries to control the circumstances with power it turns out to be authoritarian or even suppressive in its expression.
In my own experience leadership is not just about one person telling others what to do; it’s about more than just giving orders. It is about getting a group of people to work together towards a common goal with more than just the goal in mind. It is also not just about setting goals for the group but also setting personal goals for the individual, guiding and supporting them all
"The Last of The Mohicans", by Michael Mann, is a 1992 American historical movie, set in during the third years into the war of the French and Indian war. The event of the Fort William precipitated the American Revolution by portrayed the weak relationship in the British’s superior attitude to the colonist and how the Colonist better off by themselves without the British.
During the time when everything looked rough for Scotland, Macbeth came through. Macbeth was heroic on the battlefield and didn't hesitate to demonstrate courage and strength. As captain of the army, he was a leader. Macbeth killed the enemy by taking his sword and pushing it through the slave's stomach and all the way up, which demonstrated his ruthlessness. Macbeth cared about his country and was fearlessly fighting for it. Macbeth's bravery is tested and this causes...

A true leader should Accept Responsibility for not only their actions, but the actions of their group.
Leadership is important in all societies and situations. From the Sumerians, the first known civilization, all the way to present day countries, leadership has played an important part. No anarchist community has ever lasted more than a few months, because we need a leader, or leaders, to be in power and make rules. We as humans need a guide to place our morals and lead us to order.
John C. Maxwell once wrote, “Leadership is the power of one harnessing the power of many.” Rousseau, in The Social Contract Theory writes that leadership is necessary to create law. A leader must have the ability to provide for all, no matter the case. Thus, they must have the “power of many” in order to understand the will of the people. A population cannot create laws for itself without guidance from some higher power. An effective leader must be able to harness the power of many in order to create effective laws and rules for the collective good.

I believe true leadership is a quality many aspire to have, and only a few truly obtain, because in order to become a leader you must first learn to follow.
