Bow Hunting Ethical Issues

When new and old hunters enter an area they are hunting the hunters are being judged by other people who do or do not hunt. New and old hunters that are disrespectful and have no care for others cause the good and respectful hunters to have a label that all hunters are the same. The label that has been put on hunters wipe out what the good hunters do and why those hunters hunt.

Ethical hunting is commonly practiced throughout the world without many people knowing they are being an ethical hunter. Most of them have been raised to take clean shots, obey the law and respect others, this is considered to be an ethical hunter. Richard K. Young or new hunters will often watch shows or programs that have celebrities that will hunt but most will often hunt unethically and portray a bad message towards these new and young hunters. Jim Akenson, a conservation director for the Oregon Hunters Association, stated, “Young hunters crashing around the woods with no regard for other hunters. He horsepacks into the wilderness to hunt… to get away from most of the pressure” (qtd. in Barnard 1). Young and new hunters will follow what they see on the shows and ignore other hunters in the woods. This can be considered being unethical and the new or young hunter does not know that they are being disrespectful to the other hunters in the area hunting. Becoming an ethical or unethical hunter starts when the hunter is first introduced to the whole concept of hunting either being educated to be an unethical hunter on accident or being an ethical hunter from learning from elder hunters who have gone through this process
