Whatever we truly think them to be, that's what they'll become for us.” In other words, our thoughts can shape and/or manipulate the way we perceive others. Our perceptions of others can impact the way we act toward them. In To Kill a MockingBird by Harper Lee, the main character Scout and her brother Jem are dealing with racial issues when their father takes a court case. This makes the two of them see Maycomb and the town’s people differently than before.
