Bluebeard is a fairy tale story that unlike most has never been turned into a Disney movie. This detailed gory popular story written by Charles Perrault back in 1828. Blue Beard was a very powerful man whose previous wives suddenly disappeared. He had a temper and shows his wealth by flaunting it to the women in his life. Fatima is the other main character in Blue Beard who had no interest in marrying Blue Beard but once his fortunes came out she began falling for him. In Blue Beard, he gives certain rules to Fatima and is testing to see if the women he is now married to will follow the man’s rules or would her curiosity take over. Unfortunately, in her case the key had some type of magic linked to it. She rushed to her sister, Anne, to explain to her what she saw and tried to clean the key. She tried to remove the blood but every time she would try to clean one side the blood would appear on the other side and so on. The following day, Anne and Fatima hear a knock on the door. Hoping it is her brothers awaiting on the other side of the door, it turns out to be Blue Beard. Blue Beard asks for the keys back and she gives him all except the key to the door she was forbidden in. She explains to him that she will try and go find the key and instead of searching for the key she runs to Anne hoping she can fetch her brothers quick enough to stop Blue Beard from committing the same crime he did to his past wives. Fatima decides to give Blue Beard the key back and he begins questioning her about the key. Fatima explains to him she is unsure why the blood is on the key and Blue Beard threatens her that she is going to have the same ending as his previous wives. Anne begins screaming and begs that Fatima have 15 minutes to pray prior to her death. After this time, Blue Beard takes Fatima into the highest room and hides her so no one can hear her screams. She calls down to Anne to see if her brothers are there yet. Yes, this story has a happy ending, Of course, the brothers at the end come and save their sister from the misery Blue Beard would have put her through. She remarries, with all the fortune left from Blue Beard, and lives happily ever
