I agree with all of the article. Everyone either reads or watches televisions or listens to stories because they give entertainment and knowledge. Having companies use storytelling means they know their audience. Personally, I have experienced storytelling as a good memorizing technique. Also, with storytelling helps “rekindle the passion.” However, storytelling can be manipulative; “storytelling is useful when heavy influence is needed.” People will only get to see the perspective of the leader,which can be potentially harmful if there was no one to challenge the leader’s decisions. The book didn’t have the same elements that other books usually have, like character development. Anaya had Antonio grow and develope, but disregarded the rest of the characters. This seemed to defeat the purpose of the book since it was focused on Antonio learning about the gray in between the black and white. There was also a lot of repetition and not a lot of escalation. Antonio had been conflicted between religions, but it never got past that. This caused the book to feel like was being dragged out and then it just ended abruptly, leaving a lot of questions like what will happen to the one daughter of Tenorio that survived? What Antonio would become as an adult? The dreams didn’t seem to fit in the book; they were interesting, but they didn’t seem to contribute to the bigger story. Antonio never seemed to act on his dreams or refer to them after he woke up; however, they did help with my understanding of descriptive language. The one component of the book that I liked was that it played a part in the cultural opening for the chicanos. There was also a good integration between the Spanish and English
