1. Biomedical Engineering Society:
Biomedical Engineering Society is an organization that is focused on helping students understand biomedical engineer. Biomedical Engineering Society does this through tours of labs, visiting companies, inviting biomedical engineers to speak, and seminars about undergraduate research. The organization though also intends to be focused on other things like volunteering and community outreach as well as social events. Biomedical engineering is a major that I have in mind and it seems that this club will help me further understand what it means to be a biomedical engineer. This will help me decide if biomedical engineering is right for me. It also seems like a great way to meet people and networking. I got involved with the organization by filling in my email in their both so I can receive any updates on events and meetings. SHPE also focuses on community, leadership, teamwork, and professional development. SHPE does have a website that is focused on the U of A chapter and has option to be part of the newsletter. This organization seems to be very interesting and it will help greatly in the long run. I feel that this organization will help me prepare for the profession in engineering and will be very supportive. They also seem to be doing a lot of cool events and conferences. For example, the SHPE National Conference and the Regional Leadership Development Conference both offer leadership skills and promote networking. They also have events that focus on the community like Science Day and La Familia.
