Prompt: How can the characteristics of Beowulf lead to the success of leaders nowadays?

Wherever human beings accumulate together in large numbers, they need a leader. A school needs a principal to mentor and escalate the school's rank; armies need generals to lead them to a courageous victory; civilians need governments; captains of industry and intellectual leaders of thought. However, Some characteristics are commonly found in most great leaders. The Epic of Beowulf contains different leaders that people follow. Among the various characteristics these men share, a few great qualities shine through, like courage, willingness, loyalty, bravery and selflessness. The leader Beowulf portrays these qualities multiple times throughout the story, which defines him as a model of leadership of all time.

Beowulf decisively and courageous act to combat evil contributes to a model of leadership, he knows how to create peace as well as to wage war. After defeating Grendel, Grendel's mother came after Hrothgar and his people. Beowulf went heedlessly after this new threat to help his friend. He and his company tracked down Grendel's mother to her lair. Upon this discovery, Beowulf departed from his subordinates and went to face Grendel's mother (lines 450–451). A good leader should not wait for more tragedies; instead he should rise and protect his nation. Another trait that caught my eye is respect, if there is no respect shown from a leader then how can be considered a good leader? Beowulf shows great respect for people, this was portrayed in the fact people talked among each other about how brave and courageous he is (lines 380-384).
