Imagine walking into class on time everyday and feeling caught up on work. All of the lessons make sense, and being on time feels great. The grades are where they’re supposed to be, and stress isn’t the main concern. There are many factors to being successful in high school. Making sure to stay on top of attendance and trying to not be absent is sometimes difficult. Focusing on school work is also difficult at times. Getting stressed out can also alter one’s grades. Staying on top of school work and knowing what’s going on is the best feeling. Feeling lost and confused isn’t the best. In order to be successful in high school, freshmen should put in time and effort, try not to get stressed out, and try not to be absent.

In my own life, I realized that completing school work takes time and effort. It’s important to get work done, and every point counts. It all eventually adds up when a student doesn’t do their work. If a student doesn’t have the time now, such as playing video games or doing a sport, then they won’t have the time later. I have a lot of free time on my hands. Some days I don’t have free time, so I have to make time. Priorities and activities are time consuming, but work will have to be done at some point. This shows how students will have to find time and effort to do their homework. Homework is time consuming, but completing it is worth the points. Keeping up with homework keeps up the grade. If a student spends most of their time on games, sports, or other activities, they will have to balance out the activities and school work. I get stressed out easily, and a lot from school work. Stress is not an easy thing to deal with, and I find ways to deal with stress. I tell my parents so that they are aware. I meditate; meditating is difficult at times, but it takes practice. I also take warm/hot showers. Finally, I keep my phone across the room. One time I got extremely stressed from my history and english project. I was crying and trying to do work, but I couldn’t focus. At one point I emailed one of my teachers, and we talked about it. Telling my parents that I’m stressed makes it so that they don’t bother me, especially my sister. People bothering me gets me distracted. Next, I meditate so I can clear my mind. Meditation improves focus and stress management. Meditating in a calm, clean, room improves better meditation, and concentration. I take warm/hot showers to ease off stress, and tensed muscles. Finally, I keep my phone across the room when I’m doing work, so that I don’t get distracted from social media. Doing these helps me focus and do my work. Talking to someone will also help vent out one’s thoughts; If school work is getting to the head, talk it out with someone. Also, talking to the teachers and asking if the student could get an extension to some work could help ease off stress too. Focus is key.
