Before The Baptism
“You will be reborn in the eyes of the Lord,” Brother Flores said. This is an example of a beautiful transformation. Not to long ago a Reserved Officer Trainer Corps also known as a high school student had decided to get baptized in a Seventh Day Adventist church. I comprehend that many souls are being lead to God to be saved but many people who don’t understand the word of God are not ready for the change. One Saturday morning I was getting ready to go to church as I was brushing my hair I overheard my aunt say how the high school student was too young to get baptized. The mother looked like she was in her mid 30’s, the grandmother was probably in her early 50’s, and the son was a teenager. I walked into the kitchen to get a cup of water as they stood in the dining area the boy is looking at the invitation card, “Mom, isn’t he too young to get baptized? He’s going to miss out on partying, and having fun on Saturdays?” he looked at his mom with a worried face. I noticed she didn’t pay attention to him as she was engaged in a conversation with her own mother. As I walked into the restroom to wipe off my tears, my super mom comes out of one of the bathroom stalls and I told her what I had heard, “Stop worrying and pray for them, God knows their hearts.” Her words of comfort filled my soul with joy, I smiled and hugged her. In the back of my mind my thoughts were pouring out to why people would judge those who want to get baptized and follow God and compare it to missing out on the things this world offers. Anybody from all different ages can follow God for example, David from the book 1 Samuel, chapter 17 in the Bible was a teenage boy who worshipped and followed God.
