Everyone knows that the environment is not going great, for anyone, or any animal for that matter. Though that we know its a problem we do very little in ways to help the environment. With a 25 cent tax on bags, we could do more to help with the environment. While the bag tax might be a bit harder on the poor the benefits will out weigh the cost. The bag tax should happen for it would help the envirnoment heal, even through it would be rough on poor people, and will create money for the government. Bag tax will help the environment heal from all of the damage we have done. For a bag tax will make people think twice before buying a bag that is bad for the panet and they may be willing to get a paper bag. Plus the government could use the tax
The government wants to put a price on plastic bags 5-10 cents.While some agree with this movement other don’t. & the people who don’t wanna agree with it wanna get rid of plastic bags for good as a plastic bag ban. They have many reasons for why they don’t want plastic bags anymore but so do the people who want plastic bags & to add a fee for having them. Not everyone agrees that the penny should be totally eliminated. No matter what your stance the penny debate is real and the United States has to make a decision one way or another.My stance is no, we don’t need the penny anymore. You can’t buy anything with it like you can with a courter. Pennies aren’t needed the price might be 0.99 cents but we have tax so it’s rounded up.I know some people collect them because they have been around forever but, they are not needed. I feel there shouldn’t because we lose money making it, it would be easier to round up or down and it takes a lot of time to count.
Who exactly is a homeless person? A homeless person is someone without permanent housing who could be living in the streets; or be staying in a shelter; abounded vehicle or building. There are more than 600,000 people in the United States which are homeless on a given night according to the government. There is exactly 610,042 homeless people in the United States. By adding a tax, people will stop buying unhealthy foods daily. Being able to decrease the number of unhealthy food people eat, will better our overall health, and will decline our obesity rates. A study done "as of 2003, US states without sales taxes on soft drinks or snack foods were 4 times as likely as states with a tax to have a relative increase in the prevalence of obesity" (Franck, Grandi, & Eisenberg, 2003). This is a good example of how taxing junk food will help the populations problem with obesity. Pollution is a major problem for all of us. People need to recognize this situation so we can start making a difference to this problem. In order to start making a difference, the federal government should increase gasoline tax by one dollar a gallon. Fifty percent of this dollar will go towards public transportation, since passenger cars and trucks are a major contribution towards air pollution, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, E.P.A (10/4, http://www.epa.gov/autoemissions/emsns.html). Due to the expected increase after this is put forth, the remaining fifty percent of the dollar will go towards safety on these transits. When public transportation increases, air pollution will decrease, which will lessen the harmful health risks towards the environment.
