eqBQ relies heavily on the use of BIM modeling to generate the quantities before exporting them to produce the BQ. Factors affecting BIM may hinder its ability for use of quantity takeoffs and the production of the BQ. Firstly, material takeoffs in BIM require the use of different methods. For example, during manual calculation of the one-brick wall superstructure, the value of 84.86 can only be gotten after subtraction from 95.91 (the external wall for the gable ends). This kind of deduction will not be possible on the software itself and that is not how the software is designed to work as well. A different manipulation would have to be done in order to get the value of 84.86. Therefore, estimators must adapt their takeoff techniques in order to extract accurate data from the model. This would mean that those performing the takeoff must be trained to use the software. A good design begins with a creation or plan for the making of an object or service. It is a strategic approach towards a person’s (usually a client or target audience) required unique expectations. A design generally defines the specifications and parameters in achieving its main objectives. Often there are no key attributes as to what would make a design successful and interesting. Products and peoples needs and wants or taste often change and revolve around time. This brings a definite change in the market and its emerging’s trends. This cycle of evolution will always exist, but finally it is the factor of emotional response with the customer that will determine whether a product is successful or not. Whether the design is an object or it is a concept, the design that we see is an accumulation of various concepts and decisions that have been brought together from a variety of disciplines. In order for a consumer to view the design as something that is good it takes a unique combination of aesthetics, quality and ergonomics to make a design successful. Often we recognize a bad design at its first glance and a bad design often forces one to take in many confusing and conflicted content. So what makes our design/ product fail?
BDSM, a three part acronym which stands for bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism (Oxford Dictionary, 2014) has seen a drastic increase in popular culture in the last twenty years (Weiss, p: 104). Since it being brought into the public eye with the Marquis de Sade and Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, BDSM has predominantly been portrayed as a sexual deviance that only those who are sexually violent or those who are mentally unsound participate in. Images of BDSM have existed in popular culture for quite some time. Wearing cuffs, collars and leather are often found in both fashion and mainstream media so much so that many who purchase and wear them may not be aware of their significance to BDSM.
This essay which will identify the five approaches with health promotion. It will focus on two approaches for the sake of this essay. These approaches will be defined and show how it could be used to tackle a life style behaviour using the Beattie’s model. The Beattie’s model is one of the several models health promoters use as a guide to direct the intervention mode and strategy which is suitable for any particular problem. This model will be used to identify the location of each of the two approaches, highlighting role of the health promoter in each approach, as well as discuss policies and ethical issues which are associated with each approach. Nothing ever seemed to put us down, not even the roughest times that impacted our lives.
