I attribute my interest in music to my brother. Overtime, I discovered my music preferences categorizes in the Alternative rock genre. A month ago I moved to Austin an discovered it is the live music capitol. Therefore, I decide to research what music festival defines the Austin music community better and what festival will provide any new Austinite or visitor the experience to the real Austin music festival experience. In essence, I came upon two festivals: Austin City Limits (ACL) an international known music festival, and FunFunFun Fest (FFF Fest), a festival known mostly by Austinites. Therefore, I concluded a festival that represents Austin’s pure eccentricity does not try to be “weird.” Fest300 claims “Austin has a reputation of liberalism and bohemia in the midst of the more conservative South, and as such ACL promotes the city’s unique stature through a green, sustainable festival open to everyone in the community.” Although Fest300’s claim about Austin is true, ACL does not represent Austin. In essence, ACL, with the popular stigma of being indie, actually is more of a mainstream festival because of its popularity. On the contrary what makes the city is a community with people. In other words nowhere does Fest300 mention the people actually being involved in the ACL “virtual city” of Austin. Moreover, Yes, the local vendors, brewery, and waterfilling stations consist may consist of Austin residents as workers, yet the entrepreneurs of this businesses remains unknown. For all anybody may know is that these businesses may be managed by outside people of the Austin community. Therefore, the “virtual city” in ACL contains no source of where their materialistic (local businesses) representation derives
