The day begins at 8.00 am and ends at 5.00pm. for Mr. Brenner, it starts with ensuring that the children and adolescents’ welfare are up to date. Afterward, the pending issues discussed the previous day are sorted out quickly. In the afternoon, the arising issues during the day will be discussed and there after important decisions are made. In most cases, he does personal follow ups to see whether the duties are going as planned for discharged clients. Mr. Brenner believes in regression not failure. The measure of effectiveness and success for this program is difficult to measure. This is a short term program; therefore, clients are discharged at the age of 22 into society or placed back home with parents depending on apparent stability. The Foster Home Program started back in 1969. By 1978, Center for Family Life had already been opened in Brooklyn. In 1985, St. Christopher's Home collaborated with the Briarwood facility, which tends to young people in adolescence stage who are going through an emotional crisis and with developmental incapacities. A subsequent merger occurred in 1996 with Madonna Heights Services in Long Island. Madonna Heights tends to young women recuperating from injury as well as fighting with behavioral and medical problems. In 1999, St. Christopher-Ottilie converged with Family Dynamics of Brooklyn. (Hust et.al. 2014). The agency is entirely financed by Medicaid and subsidized by the program set by the government offices such as the OMH (office of mental health), since the program specializes on social work establishments.
