1 Christ Bearing the Cross “Carrying our cross” is a quite familiar concept to Christians. We tend to associate this notion with physical ailments or challenges, difficulties in prayer, mental illness, emotional distress, or any of a number of unwelcome events that inevitably occur in life. The painter portrays important figures that were narrated in the Old Testament the artist. Christ is bearing the cross invokes a depressing aspect of Christ’s suffering. Jesus took all the load of people's sins on his shoulders as depicted by the cross he is carrying.

I have been keeping my feelings and negative emotions bottled up inside for too long. I feel that on a positive note, the tidal wave symbolizes the clearing away of old habits. Like franklin Roosevelt said “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor."

5. Sun and moon
This painting has in its title the word simultaneous which means an idea of passing of time when I initially saw the painting, I immediately visualized a family in the bottom right hand corner who were bunched together early in the morning due to the prominent use of yellow, the color of the sun. When I looked up at the top left hand corner, I immediately visualized a mother tucking her child into bed because the color of blue was reminiscent of the night sky as the moon is set to appear.
The circular framework can be symbolic of the universe with the brighter colors representing life during the day while the dark blue side being symbolic of nightlife when the moon is up. A cast shadow effect is represented. He uses an array of reds, oranges, blues, and greens to show the contrast of the sun and moon and the rotation of day and night
